Omari Ali Tandara
Fearless Youth Leader & Disability Rights Advocate
Omari Ali Tandara, born in March 1993, is a courageous youth leader with a hearing impairment. He is the Founder and Chairman of Kilindini Deaf Youth Empowerment, established in 2019. Omari completed his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education in 2017 at Kuja Special Secondary School for the Deaf. He further pursued training in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship Development, and Life Skills at Foundation College Embu in 2018. Despite financial challenges, he earned a Diploma in Electrical Installation (Electrical Technology and its practical applications) from the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) in 2019. Omari has demonstrated unwavering commitment to volunteerism and disability advocacy, serving in organizations such as Kilindini Deaf Economic Empowerment CBO, Vision of the Blind (NGO) as Advisor on Disability Rights and Civic Participation, and Likoni Ability Network CBO as a Field Officer.He has tirelessly worked to raise awareness on the needs and potential
