What We Do
Four transformative programs creating lasting change across Kenya's coastal region
Governance and Leadership Program
The Governance and Leadership Program strengthens civic engagement and promotes accountable governance across the Coast Region. This program creates platforms for dialogue where communities can understand their rights, interrogate public policies, and advocate for transparent and inclusive decision-making. Through community forums, civic education, and digital engagement, Ajenda Kenya empowers residents—particularly youth and women—to participate meaningfully in governance processes and demand responsible utilization of public resources.

Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR)
The SRHR Program promotes the health, safety, and well-being of adolescents and youth (12–24 years) across the Coast Region. Ajenda Kenya provides safe spaces for young people to learn about their sexual and reproductive health, challenge harmful norms, and access supportive services.
The program works closely with parents, teachers, healthcare institutions, and community leaders to ensure an enabling environment for youth empowerment and protection from Gender-Based Violence (GBV).

Climate Justice
The Climate Justice Program amplifies community-driven climate solutions while safeguarding the rights and livelihoods of marginalized coastal populations. Ajenda Kenya works with local communities to rehabilitate degraded ecosystems, strengthen climate resilience and adaptation, and advocate for equitable climate policies.
The program's flagship initiative in Kisauni Sub-County focuses on marine mangrove restoration along Mtwapa Creek, implemented through monthly community plantation drives, apiculture and youth-led climate campaigns.

Art & Sports For Change
The Art & Sports for Change Program uses creative and sports platforms to foster peace, resilience, civic engagement and positive youth development in the Coast Region. Through arts-based dialogues, sports mentorship, and community engagements, the program provides safe spaces where young people, especially from informal settlements, can build life skills, participate in governance, resolve conflict peacefully, and stay away from criminal networks and substance abuse.
The flagship "Soccer for Peace" initiative mobilizes community teams to encourage discipline, mentorship, and social cohesion.
